What are you too busy for?
As a veteran business operator, I’ve had a lot of opportunities
To try, fail, and reflect on what I would have done differently.
Here’s a common theme I’ve found:
Often, the biggest challenge that causes me the most grief as a CEO
Is something that would have been easier
(Or not a problem at all)
If I’d only made time for it
Earlier.
If you're too busy to get to something, it's likely because either:
It's NOT important, so you should delete or deprioritize it
Or it's VERY important, but it's inconvenient to complete.
And the things that fall in category #2
Are the mini-landmines that set up your business
To fail.
Classic examples:
Creating a formal commercial strategy
Defining metrics and tracking plans
Getting customer feedback
Creating internal systems
Building team culture
...The list goes on.
So ask yourself,
What are you too busy for today?
Because, it's either not important
Or it's a lesson learned
That you just haven't learned yet.
