Okay, software is a thing

Ask and ye shall receive I guess!

I got a ton of great responses from my questions about software yesterday!

A few of the platforms discussed:

  • All-in-one Ops software

  • Expense management

  • Accounting software

  • Collaboration tools

  • Point-of-sale

  • Payments

  • CRMs

My biggest takeaway?

The feedback was a mix of two things:

  1. Gratitude for great software that solves problems, gets things done, and delivers value worth every penny.

  2. Frustration with tools that:

    • Don’t work as advertised.

    • Miss common use cases.

    • Are so complicated to set up you can’t even tell if they’re useful yet.

    • Lack integration with other essential tools (or force you to use software you despise).

    • Simply aren’t worth the price tag—leading people to DIY solutions instead.

I think this area might be worth exploring more...

More to come after the holidays!

---

I'm signing off from The Daily CFO tonight for a holiday break.

Though I may log in to share an idea or two,

We'll get back to our regularly scheduled email in the new year.

Want to catch me one more time before the holidays?

Join me tomorrow, Thursday, 12/18, for an event with Founder's Common, who have invited me to talk about becoming your own CFO.

If you’re a longtime reader, it’ll be familiar content—stuff you’ve probably already seen here, but discussed out loud with a live Q&A.

If you’re newer to the list, it’s the perfect crash course!

(I think there are still plenty of tickets for non-Founders Common members. If you try to get a spot and it's sold out, let me know)

See you Thursday, or after the holidays!

Be well and I'll see you in the new year!
