What’s My Job Now?
There’s a moment that tends to happen for founders
(Typically, when they reach ~10-15 employees, depending on the industry and business type)
Where they hire away most of the work that used to occupy their hustle time
And they start to feel like,
What the heck is my job now?
If I’m not selling every customer
If I’m not managing the team
If I’m not building our product
…then what the heck am I doing here?
In fact, I’ve even seen multiple founders who will go back to coding on the weekends, just to feel like they’re doing something familiar that they feel good at.
If this is you, here’s what you should know:
1) This is a normal feeling and
2) Your job has indeed changed, and you need to get with the program.
You are transitioning from Chief Execution Officer,
To Chief Decision Officer.
And your skillset needs to evolve with it.
From Hustle, Hustle, Hustle
To Lead, Monitor, Evaluate, and Decide.
Not liking your new role?
Don’t worry:
It’ll change again at employee ~30-35 :)
