One Day of Strategy

As a founder, you have no time to be strategic

…At least, not every day.

Most of your time as a startup or small business CEO is spent executing.

This isn’t wrong; it makes sense.

There is too much to do and not enough people to do it.

The problems arise when you confuse this necessity with your destiny:

Just because you don’t have time to be focused on being a strategic leader everyday

Doesn’t mean you’re stuck always being reactionary.

There is no excuse for having no strategy.

To have both, you simply need to set a cadence.

Some regular time each month or each quarter

Where you will put everything down and think strategically:

  • What do you think is happening in your industry and what does that mean for you?

  • Who are your competitors and how could you crush them?

  • Where do you want to be in 5 years? In 10?

  • And what alternative paths aren’t you considering?

You might not get to be so future-focused every day.

But a day or just a few hours when it counts

Could change everything.

Enjoy the weekend and see you Monday!
